Getting Started
Free Consultation Phone Call
Contact PPW for your free consultation phone call! This phone call with Dr. Janessa Nowlen Lorenzo lasts approximately 10-25 minutes where we will briefly discuss your current concerns and how PPW can help. It is also used to discuss logistics, such as fees, insurance, and contact information. PPW knows that you may have specific questions about starting therapy. This phone call allows us to discuss any questions and it can help you decide if PPW feels like the right fit for you.
Payment
Currently accepting commercial plans from UPMC, United, Aetna, Highmark/Blue Cross Blue Shield and private pay. PPW does NOT accept medicare or medicaid products (including UPMC for You and Highmark Wholecare) as either a primary or secondary insurance. If you wish to use your out of network benefits with another insurance company, PPW will provide you with a statement for insurance reimbursement to submit to your insurance company. You will be responsible for payment at the time of your appointment, and you can then submit the statement to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Please contact your insurance to inquire about your out of network coverage for outpatient mental health services.
First Appointment
Prior to your first appointment you will be sent paperwork to complete electronically through a secure, HIPPA-compliant portal.
Your first appointment will last approximately 1 hour. This appointment will be different from the following appointments as it focuses on gathering information about you and your current concerns and needs. It is also time for us to discuss what therapy will be like, and talk about any of your goals, hopes, or topics you may want to discuss in therapy.
For your initial appointment, please bring your insurance card and payment (cash, credit card, check) for the appointment fee or your deductible/co-pay.
Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services.
Make sure your therapist gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your appointment. You can also ask your therapist for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an appointment.
If you received a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or a picture of your Good Faith Estimate
